you had better sensor me yourself before I get into serious trouble, owing to my mischief on here and now. (I am guaranteed of just this one life with almost a tactile, verifiable certitude; hereafter is probably true, but 'I', here and now, is like the bird in hand, so to speak) So...
If you do not like me, work on your prejudice against me. If you have a reason not to like me, be reasonable and let's discuss, for I would love to be liked by all and sundry. ( I have no personal enemies, because I have stopped being in the fray since 1984; I do not compete as a rule, because I believe that it matters little whether I win or you win, as long as there is a common ground for both of us to progress)
Yet there are rules (of the game). like, for eg., I do not like to be called an idiot in public. Charles, the pseudo British freak, once called me an idiot, here on the net. He broke a rule of the game. The moderator/s, however, let that remain on line for all to see, without considering that I was using humour and error deliberately to play the fool. I do not remember the context in which that happened - only the burning sense of treachery and a great distrust of the rule-makers. (And you can understand the residue of irritation left by the pseudo British babu!)
In Auroville, there are/should be no rules. Just the charter is/should be our beacon. It is a powerful Mantra, the four point charter, and we should have faith in the Divine utterance. Everything we do is a "psychological shift" only!
Auroville, as an Idea (even as half an attempt) is not new to the Indian Psyche. "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" is an ancient, haunting call to all people of goodwill, to come to vrindavana and live in harmony and towards realizing the advent of the next unfolding - chapter 11, after Dashavatara.
He came again in the form of Sri Aurobindo along with the Mother to propose a pragmatic way to go about it. She has given us everything, I mean EVERYTHING, here in this little world of ours we call Auroville.
Despite that there is petty politics and career planning by exploiting the unsuspecting and needy (often native) fool. But that too is OK.
I shall feel free here to post whatever I wish to post. I wish to have no "big brother' phobia in Auroville, and who knows? Something unimaginable may manifest through me. I am just an instrument; He is the doer. So do not sensor me. Do not choke me because of your sentimentality and fear and your ridiculous notions of moral good and your itch to send 'signals' to the madam in Delhi. From my side, I assure you that I love you and when everything fails and you and I are the only human beings left on earth, if you cry for help I shall come rushing because we share a common race. We are human beings. I love you because I can not not love myself! You are me - a human being.
But that is an extreme. Considering our prolific breeding prowess on the planet, that may never come to pass. However, what may happen (again, I must say, because it has happened repeatedly in the past) is that you may develop prejudice and try to mobilize vote against me, because ... damn it, the ritam, 'RULES OF THE GAME', remember?
If that happens, I will be left with one choice. Either I perish or eradicate YOU. That violence has to be avoided at any cost because that is cessation of the opportunity to unite with the origin of life-our Lord, the First Principle, The Divine. That violence is the only sin.
It is with this outlook that I love Auroville.
Do what you have to, Try to save the planet, if you are so inclined and interested to do. Build lovely architecture if that is what you must do. Buy land, sell land, make money, until you realize that money is just a sort of 'interface', not the whole technology, but...
LIVE AND LET LIVE.
Because, in the final analysis, to err is human, to forgive, Divine.
Let us do that, shall we? Let us all become Divine. I feel that the world will be a lovely place if filled with Divine individuals.
